The series People and Beasts watch online for free
Recently, I increasingly turn to the Soviet school of cinematography, watch films from the period of the sixties - eighties. And I catch myself thinking that they were filmed with high quality, soundly, and modern filmmakers, as well as viewers, should pay attention to them. They are also instructive! And oddly enough - they are relevant even in modern realities! I don’t know if the film “People and Beasts” is popular now - whom I did not ask from my acquaintances, few people know about it, but I would advise you to watch it. The plot tells a difficult story of a man who went through a war, who lived in difficult times, experienced the hardships of wartime on himself, he had to endure a lot and, worst of all, it turned out that there was no one to support him. The main character of the film shows the fate of many people. The calculation goes not in hundreds, but in hundreds of thousands! How many people ended up in concentration camps, how many soldiers were taken prisoner. The war, which became an unpleasant "surprise" for the entire Soviet Union, turned into long years of occupation.By the way, the blunders and defeats of the first period of the war were attributed to "cowards", "traitors", those who fell into the hands of the Nazis, but in fact people survived a real hell, those who survived were doomed to persecution by the Soviet regime. Released from captivity, they were again in captivity, this time by decree of the Soviet government. Many were even afraid of returning to their homeland, knowingly assuming that one should not count on a warm welcome. How many people ended up in the Soviet camps, and asks why they suffered deprivation and humiliation? Many people were recorded as accomplices of the fascists. Several years passed after the war, and only when they stopped idealizing Stalin, these people were given back their right to freedom. Disgraced and driven by their own power, former prisoners of war began to be considered heroes, films were made about them, books were written. But can this glory make up for what they have lost? But how many worthy people were among those very prisoners who were broken both physically and morally. The film "People and Beasts" is one of such films, which began to demonstrate how hard it was for the prisoners. They shot this film in the early sixties. The protagonist of this story is an honest, noble man, at the same time he is proud. Any business can be argued in his hands, he can do everything, he has a rich life experience. He found himself far from his homeland and it oppresses him. The other might have already adapted to his situation and even benefited from it, but everything pulls him home. The role of this character was played by actor Nikolai Eremenko, although how to say - he played, he most likely based on his life experience, because the actor himself fought with the enemy, he fought, then was captured and was in the camp. He knew what deprivation was and very convincingly "lived" them on the screen. Someone else, finding himself in his place, perhaps would prefer to forget about the horrors that befell him. I found it curious how life abroad is presented in this film. Propaganda was carried out with Soviet people so that Soviet people would not think about going abroad. He was content with the arranged life in the Land of the Soviets. Therefore, people were not allowed out of the country, except for a very narrow circle of people. There was no need to look at free and prosperous countries. People from the USSR were convinced that the West was poor, there was no work, no housing. And some films were filmed in accordance with the "party policy". Why are there some - many! But Sergei Gerasimov was able to shoot the west as it is. True, and the shooting took place "abroad", and not in the Baltics. And our people could really stay and live comfortably there, if not for the craving for the homeland, like the hero of the film. But those who are “simpler” refer to lack of spirituality, are selfish, and think only about their own comfort and are able to adapt to circumstances - it would be nice to live. There are people in whom the "beast" sits, and there are those in whom it is not, and these people are worthy of the title "Man". In whom did the "beast" sit? In the film, there are vivid representatives of people with a "beast" inside. This is a guard from Argentina, where the main character was engaged in harvesting reeds, and brothers with fascist sentiments, who had a chance for Alexei to work in Hamburg, who tested his patience and mocked him. Typical life-savers who have not achieved anything on their own owe their financial well-being to their father. But, nevertheless, they consider themselves full-fledged masters of life. Isn't that so, familiar type? By the way, what amazed me, although there is nothing to be surprised at, the brothers regularly attend church and are respected there. The hero was driven to despair there, in a foreign land, his brother did not answer from home, to whom he regularly wrote, and we know that these letters were not shown to him by his wife, she was frightened by the prospect of a family connection with someone who had been in the camps and toiled abroad. In some ways, this woman can even be understood. It was such a time, they could suffer too.He was drawn to Alexei's homeland, he was not dear to comfort. He almost even took his own life. And all the same, he returned. He returned to that high level of spirituality and culture, which he lacked in other countries. Indeed, it was in the USSR in the postwar years. And now? And now, only memories. We have a high standard of living in our country, you can also exist quite comfortably, but culture and spirituality are no longer discussed. That's how it turned out. It seems that Sergei Gerasimov foresaw the future, and hastened to shoot a picture about a Man with a capital letter - Alexei Pavlov. If you haven't watched it yet, be sure to check it out! Do not spare your time for such a serious, well-shot, interesting and instructive film. This film is about a difficult time for the entire Soviet people, about the realities of that time, about a person's love for their homeland, about a person with a soul, a fine feeling, who managed to assess society, which does not lose its relevance. There are people, and there are "animals" ...
I decided to watch this two-part tape on the advice of my friends. To be honest, I adore these kind of films, because they have a lot of meaning, and the acting is usually always at its best in such films, which cannot be said about most modern films. The plot of this film tells us the story of one man who once fought at the front, was in captivity, knows firsthand what a concentration camp is. He wanted to return to his homeland, but he did not do this and wandered the world for a long time, trying to survive in a world teeming with injustice, lies and betrayal. In general, I initially thought that this was some kind of propaganda film. Even judging by the title of the film, you already begin to understand that there are normal people, and there are those who literally live atrociously. But continuing to watch the film, you understand that not everything is so smooth in our Motherland and that we also have many greedy, shameless, envious and deceitful people. And after all, you begin to understand that the matter is not in the order in which you live, it is in the people who behave like that. The story of the main character is impressive. This person was able to feel on his own skin so many different hardships of life. He was in one of the German concentration camps, was on Argentine plantations, had relations with "white" Russians and Germans, met with emigrants, even somehow had an affair with an aristocrat, familiar with the night quarters of Hamburg, and there was even a time when he worked a lackey. And for a long time, he wanted only one thing - to return as quickly as possible to his home. The image of the protagonist is far from ideal. After all, he even admits that he was afraid to return home, he was afraid of Stalin, he was afraid for his life. He understood that everyone betrayed him, both friends and relatives. But, in the world there are still those who were able to help the hero, support him in difficult times, those who were not indifferent to the fate of this person. I would really like to be just "such" people, but for this you need to try very hard. Now many, perhaps, will understand what to strive for, what kind of people, not animals. It is a pity that people are now very angry, envious and ungrateful. But if you let go of the whole impression of what is happening in the plot of this picture, and look at the whole of this film product, then I would like to say that I did not find any flaws in this film. An excellent production, the dialogues of the characters are well thought out and interesting, and yet they occupy a large part of the picture. The duration of the picture is about three hours, but I was not tired of watching, since the plot was very interesting and curious to me. The acting was really talented, like the whole presentation of the picture as a whole. A lot of my favorite actors took part in the filming. Despite the year this painting was created, I would recommend viewing it.The plot is really impressive and showed the viewer what really is, what is present in our world and lies, and envy, and betrayal, from which one cannot escape to another country. Thank you all for your attention.
