Once Upon a Time in Wonderland onlineA young and energetic girl living in Victorian London, Alice comes under the supervision of doctors. Doctors do not believe the beauty, who claims to have traveled through a fairytale world, where she met a cat that can disappear, a caterpillar that loved to smoke a hookah, and many other interesting characters. But Alice especially fell in love with the Djinn, whom she cannot forget. The doctors practically manage to convince the girl that this whole world is a figment of her imagination, but then the mysterious Cyrus appears. He tells Alice that this fairy-tale world is not an invention, and that deep down she still believes in it and is ready to be in it again.
Once upon a time, in the distant and gloomy nineteenth century for the modern man in the street, an unusually talented and witty man named Lewis Carroll composed a story that entered the hearts of readers so easily and simply, and which lingered there for so long that this phenomenon could well have been call it a real miracle. This story was called "Alice in Wonderland", and its plot - quite understandable, it should be noted, already by the very name - is pleasant and uncomplicated, but acutely and attractively fulfilled and even more than fulfilled all the requirements for literary work, which are only possible to compose the most to the fastidious reader: there were unexpected turns of events, and vivid characters, and a kind, but deep and correct morality - and if we take into account that at that time the surreal art of storytelling was not developed as much as it is today, then Lewis Carroll and at all can be recorded in the category of magicians of the word. Talented and interesting, versatile and educated, this man loved children and fairy tales with the same power with which he had a passion for science - and, most likely, he would be incredibly disappointed if he faced this creation of foreign cinema, under which I and I am writing this unnecessary and one-sided review. - Why? - a casual reader will probably ask me, getting ready to throw tomatoes and other food supplies, taking them out of the magic bag and loading the guns. - Isn't this the colorful show that we deserve? Is there something here that you should find fault with? .. And I will answer: "Yes". And you know what? You will be very wrong if you start throwing tomatoes before I substantiate my point of view. Skip all the fun. Firstly, I will surprise you (surprise has always been my strong point, and therefore I ask you to take note of this and not faint): I kind of liked the show. And yes, I would venture to give him a positive critical assessment and recommend the familiar youth, whose age category does not exceed fourteen, if not for one "but" - this story is still not about a second-rate world composed on the go, but about the amazing Universe created by Carroll , from which in this case there was only dust and ashes from the conflagrations. However, there is a silver lining, as well as a silver lining.Anyway, good and evil are by no means mutually exclusive things and can coexist in everything, even in the same film. Stock up on fanfare, medals and tomatoes - depending on who and how they treat my opinion - and let's go! Here, you know, all the fun begins. So, ladies and gentlemen, to your applause - a full scroll of all kinds of positive, good, purring and wonderful aspects that I have found in this small but cute and sincere spin-off. 1) First, this is a spin-off. This means that it is not a very independent work. This means that it should be treated a priori not as demandingly as a separately existing creation that claims to have an independent history. 2) Secondly, here there is a sickly morality and quite an interesting formulation of the question of evil and good, which, again, here many times intersect in one single "vessel": take the same evil and heartless at first glance Jafar, for example ... He - a real bastard, incapable, it seemed, of elementary sympathy - suddenly found a wounded heart, and a dark past, and many vain attempts in the past to find their real place in life and benefit society. And Cyrus's mother - who, it seems, was supposed to be an angelic flower, consisting of love and understanding - features such terrifying and bloodthirsty features that it is sometimes simply impossible to look at her without fear. Questions of interpersonal relationships are also raised here repeatedly. From the problem of feelings between parents and children to the primitive theme of falling in love, from the relationship of allies to the friendship of two similar lonely souls, absolutely everything a child needs to know, entering adulthood and preparing to take on similar disappointments, blows and responsibility in in the nearest future. Oh yes, about betrayal, commercialism, hatred and indifference are also repeatedly mentioned here. Indeed, an unrequited feeling is also undivided in Wonderland. 3) And third, of course, Cyrus. While everyone was staring at Knave and screaming in unison how darling he was, I waited for moments with him. Probably, this is all because I simply like men of similar appearance. And the inserts from his past life with an oriental flavor are undoubtedly pleasing. And now to the disadvantages. Unfortunately, I counted many more - but this is not the point. In the end, they are much more detailed, less colossal and spoil the story on the scale of cultural significance and general film etiquette (so to speak), rather than worsen it in relation to itself. So, I present to your fair and honest court ... 1) Special effects. They are here as in the early 2000s, if not even worse - in the nineties. Some kind of inserted huge mushrooms, a forest park that looks like an average park area with playgrounds and a lake; incomprehensible castles and disgusting royal gardens, which are a kind of ridiculous decoration; and, of course, this huge computer grass that replaces the real one when the local strange landscape requires it. Agree that it looks terrible. Just agree. This is so. 2) The plot. Alice in a fool, a rabbit with the eyes of a drug addict, a beggar queen, a criminal caterpillar and other amazing things in the spirit of some low-story action movie in which a girl in a short skirt with always crooked lips rushes through the woods and chops strong men, and her boyfriend sits in a dungeon and demonstratively suffers. On the one hand, for many snotty girls who are not used to thinking about anything but a handsome prince, this will serve as an excellent motivation for action, and on the other hand, no, well, you must admit, this story looks somehow not very good in this entourage. 3) Characters. No, no, everything seems to be all right with them - well, not counting the notorious mafia caterpillar, which sits in a cafe and sells strange things. However, the very fact of the hellish non-canonical nature of what is happening and the geographic oddities associated with the location of the wonderland itself relative to all the others, pretty frightens me and makes me frantically think up hundreds and thousands of strange jokes. The genies in Wonderland, her bordering position with Agroba and so on, and so forth, and so on very, very disturbing me - and, if in the original, the main series it looked somehow very appropriate, then here, coupled with unsuccessful special effects, it looks like a cheap parody of a fresh and interesting take on filthy classics. On that we will agree. My overall rating is 7 out of 10. Thank!
A good spin-off, such a kind fairy tale that you watch and take your breath away. It was very nice to see familiar characters from Once Upon a Time, namely Jack. Jafar was very well chosen, a good actor, I remember him from the TV series "Lost". If we compare Jafar with Once Upon a Time in this series too, then I would have chosen Navin Andrews. As for Alice herself, I didn't really like her, but on the whole I really liked the tale. Alice's zeal to save her beloved is even amazing.
"Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" is a rather successful spin-off of the series "Once Upon a Time", so beloved by the viewer. The ideas for the series are taken from two popular stories "Alice in Wonderland" and "Aladdin". These two fairy tales and their universes are completely different, which makes the series so interesting and exciting! The producers were also played into the hands of a successful cast and their convincing performance. Well, how can you not like the Red Queen (Anastasia), lost in her desires, with a cute face, a cruel and loving heart and, of course, with stunning outfits! Jafar, whose personal tragedy is revealed from episode to episode, does not leave anyone indifferent and, moreover, makes them doubt the simple logic of the Good vs. Evil fairy tales. To what extent can he be blamed for cruelty and anger, given what he went through as a child? Well, the main couple, Alice and Cyrus, whose love went through a damn dozen trials and doubts. The jack is the link between the characters. He helped Alice in the absence of a heart, which he tore out so that he would no longer suffer and feel pain. At the beginning, the series will seem too fabulous, but then you realize how a fairy tale can be too fabulous? =) Watch and enjoy, because this series will not only give you a bunch of smiles, but also inspire hope in those who have yet to find their love; will strengthen faith in it for those who have already found it and in general will touch your hearts, like a good old story about true love.
Do you remember the good old fairy tale about Alice and her magical world? Surely remember, and so, this series is a kind of continuation of the cartoon. In the series, Alice is looking for her love, saving friends, fighting monsters, and much more. In this series, you will also see a new side of the old, already beloved heroes, for example: the white rabbit, he is forced to help the villains, the caterpillar, has become the "head" of all the bandits, has also lost his wisdom. The new character is Jafar, a little boy who just wanted to find a family. The red queen wanted wealth, but realized that she would be happy only with her beloved. Jack-who is forced to help Alice, because he needs desires. Everyone will have a hard time, but after all, you will not go for anything for love ...
This is how, unexpectedly, a fairy tale turns into a rather ugly movie, with Cheshire the predator, the White Rabbit the traitor, the Blue Caterpillar-mafia and other "cute" creatures. The main character is rather strange, dashingly waves her weapon and immediately roars with burning tears because of her genie, then considers him dead, and a second later piously believes that he survived. There are a lot of blunders when the writers either could not, or did not want to find justify. What is just a hanger with clothes from the second series that ran past, or a forget-me-not rope, it is not clear how decisive what exactly to show from the past. The series is saved by a good picture and a rather twisted plot, the landscapes really turned out to be beautiful, and the fate of the main and cross-cutting characters does not allow us to leave the screen.
Somehow you immediately merge into the atmosphere of the series, apparently the fact that the main character, like most of the secondary characters, is familiar to everyone from childhood, is evident. There is a feeling that close and a little forgotten memories take you by the hand and lead you to meet new impressions - fabulous adventures, childhood dreams, pure love - everything is more and more wonderful! A bright, colorful, dynamic series is interesting despite some naivety that the format of a fairy tale story can afford a priori, nevertheless, the creators of the series clearly tried to put as much sense as possible in several new storylines. Naturally, I would not recommend watching fierce skeptics and fans of a radically different format of TV series / films.
